Juri Kubes, AGACNP-BC

Juri Kubes, AGACNP-BC is board certified as a Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She has received both the Katie Ferraris Taylor Oncology Nursing Fund award from the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University and the William M. and Mary K. Brooks Nursing Leadership Award.

 

Juri states that “As a hematology-oncology nurse practitioner, I specialize in patient education, treatment counseling, and the daily management of symptoms and side effects related to cancer and its therapies. My role involves monitoring for treatment response and complications, managing common concerns like fatigue, nausea, or cytopenia, and helping patients navigate decisions throughout their care. I also focus on early recognition of complications that may require escalation, ensuring timely intervention and coordination with the care team, when needed. My background as an inpatient oncology RN has provided me with a solid foundation in cancer care and patient support.”

 

Her philosophy of care includes building trust and delivering compassionate and individualized care as well as empowering patients through education. She was drawn to Oncology because of the meaningful and long term relationships that are built with patients. She values the opportunity to connect with patients beyond their diagnosis.

 

In her free time, Juri enjoys running, reading, and keeping up with new developments in Oncology. She also values quiet time outdoors and connecting with friends and family.
